*Homes & Songs* is an interdisciplinary performance that explores the themes of home, identity, and migration from a feminist and decolonial perspective. The performance combines dance, music, body, objects, and voice, whether through text or song. The individual stories of the performers merge into a collective narrative. The personal becomes political and simultaneously transforms into a universal force, creating space for empathy and solidarity. With *Homes & Songs*, we aim to create a playful, poetic, and humorous experience to challenge traditional notions of home and identity in a globalized world.

*Homes & Songs* ist eine interdisziplinäre Performance, die sich aus einer feministischen und dekolonialen Perspektive mit den Themen Heimat, Identität und Migration auseinandersetzt. Die Performance verbindet Tanz, Musik, Körper, Objekte und Stimme, sei es in Form von Texten oder Liedern. Die individuellen Geschichten der Performerinnen verschmelzen zu einer kollektiven Erzählung. Das Persönliche wird politisch und zugleich zu einer universellen Kraft, die Raum für Empathie und Solidarität schafft. Mit *Homes & Songs* wollen wir eine spielerische, poetische und humorvolle Erfahrung kreieren, um traditionelle Vorstellungen von Heimat und Identität in einer globalisierten Welt zu hinterfragen.

Dance Theater Performance with live sound

Multidisciplinary performance project that explores how migration can become a process of transformation and a source of empowerment for women, starting from personal struggles, opening up to shared experiences, and ultimately leading to a new space of encounter with ourselves and others.
Three women from different backgrounds, age groups, and artistic disciplines reflect on their individual migration paths and identities. They base their reflections on the figure of the witch and the concept of the "Mestiza" from the decolonial and feminist approaches of Glória Anzaldúa. By engaging with the figure of the witch, who in many cultures evokes both fear and fascination and is often viewed as "the other," as well as with the concept of the "Mestiza," which highlights the hybrid identity of a person, the women embark on a journey of self-determination and empowerment. Through dance, self-written texts, voice, and sound, they tell their stories to show that identities are not static but are shaped by diverse influences. This exploration serves not only as a means of self-reflection but also as a way to question societal norms and stereotypes and to offer new perspectives.
This work is part of my research »Urbane Hexen: Resistant Women in Berlin,« which was supported by Neustart Kultur / DISTANZEN Dachverband Tanzdeutschland in 2021.

Multidisziplinäres Performance-Projekt, das untersucht, wie Migration zu einem Prozess der Transformation und einer Quelle der Ermächtigung für Frauen werden kann. Ausgangspunkt sind persönliche Kämpfe, die sich zu gemeinsamen Erfahrungen öffnen und schließlich zu einem neuen Ort der Begegnung mit uns selbst und anderen führen.
Drei Frauen unterschiedlicher Herkunft, Altersgruppen und künstlerischer Hintergründe hinterfragen ihre individuellen Migrationswege und Identitäten. Als Grundlage für ihre Reflexionen dienen ihnen die Figur der Hexe und das Konzept der "Mestiza" nach den dekolonialen und feministischen Ansätzen von Glória Anzaldúa. Durch die Beschäftigung mit der Figur der Hexe, die in vielen Kulturen sowohl Angst als auch Faszination auslöst und oft als "Fremde" betrachtet wird, sowie dem Konzept der "Mestiza", das die hybride Identität einer Person in den Fokus rückt, begeben sich die Frauen auf eine Suche nach Selbstbestimmung und Selbstermächtigung. Mittels Tanz, selbstgeschriebenen Texten, Stimme und Klang erzählen sie ihre Geschichten, um zu zeigen, dass Identitäten nicht statisch sind, sondern von vielfältigen Einflüssen geprägt werden. Diese Auseinandersetzung dient nicht nur der Selbstreflexion, sondern auch als Mittel, um gesellschaftliche Normen und Stereotype zu hinterfragen und neue Perspektiven aufzuzeigen.
Diese Arbeit ist Teil meiner Recherche »Urbane Hexen: Widerständige Frauen in Berlin«, die 2021 von Neustart Kultur / DISTANZEN Dachverband Tanzdeutschland unterstützt wurde.

Is a performace inspired by the phenomenon of earthquakes, abrupt movements of the Earth caused by the collision of tectonic plates during a sudden rearrangement of materials in the Earth's crust and the release of accumulated energy over an extended period. Through movement, voice, and work with objects, the performance explores spaces of physical density, areas of friction, dissonances, resonances, and the desire to coexist together beyond seismic events.

Is a performance ist inspiriert von dem Phänomen der Erdbeben, plötzlichen Bewegungen der Erde, verursacht durch die Kollision tektonischer Platten während einer plötzlichen Neuordnung von Materialien in der Erdkruste und der Freisetzung über einen längeren Zeitraum aufgestauter Energie. Durch Bewegung, Stimme und Arbeit mit Objekten erforscht die Performance Räume physischer Dichte, Bereiche der Reibung, Dissonanzen, Resonanzen und das Verlangen, gemeinsam über Erdbeben hinaus zu existieren.
